Were confirmed on Thursday, March 17th, at 3:30 p.m. in a courtroom in K's region. "Rejected" were the words of the judge. Our application to adopt Kirill was rejected after a five hour court hearing. I'm sorry I haven't posted but honestly, I'm just now emotionally able to type this post. Please be in prayer for our judge and the prosecutor who deliberated and made the decision. We are appealing to the Supreme Court in Moscow. It will take about two weeks for us to find out the result of our appeal. We just need prayers now. To say we are devastated would be an understatement. Our hearts are broken into a million pieces and we are grieved to our core. But we will appeal and we will do everything we can to bring our son home. I don't want to do ANYTHING that could jeopardize K coming home, so what I post will be selective. I want to keep this blog public because I know many people are praying for us and for Kirill. Please keep your comments kind; we do not want to be critical of the country that we love where our son lives...we have so much love for the people there...ALL of them. I want to keep the blog public but I cannot if there are negative comments left because we just need to pray for everyone involved, not criticize them.
James 1:2-4
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Praying for you and everyone involved. You are such an inspiration to us that are waiting for our children to come home. Hugs and love to you and your family <3

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry your family is going through this. Praying for EVERYONE involved!
ReplyDeleteJust want to let you know that I am organizing a day of fasting and prayer for your family and sweet little Kirill on Friday March 25th. To God be the glory!
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for every single person involved in this situation, especially sweet little Kirill. (That little guy has long been tugging on my heartstrings!) I'm opting not to judge the powers that be in this case, but rather pray to the Lord to shield them from negative influences and to enlighten them. Let them be inspired and moved. Let them know love and how very much Kirill needs to be home with his family- the very people who are willing to walk through fire to bring this precious little guy home!
ReplyDeletePraying for you all!
ReplyDeleteKeeping your family and those involved in the next decision in my prayers. Your strength and courage throughout this process are inspiring to us all! Sending hugs and love, friend!

ReplyDeleteGod still moves on the hearts of men. Praying for all involved. Praying for you for wisdom, peace, and strength for the battle. Praying that Kirill remains in good health as well. HUGS for you today!
ReplyDeleteFrom the moment I heard this news, I felt that He was calling for me to Pray for You and your family and for little K, but mostly for the heads and hearts of every single person involved in the Appeal process. You are Loved!
ReplyDeletePraying for everyone. In particular for K and the others he lives with at the orphanage, that the adults involved in their lives make the best decisions and act in their best interest.
ReplyDeleteMiracles are real. They happen every single day and they will happen now. God has the power to do what needs to be done.
ReplyDeleteSomething that really helped us when we were going through a really scary time right before court (long story) was when we remembered that our fear was NOT coming from the Lord. When we completely turned it over to Him and told Him from our hearts that we trusted that He would take care of things, our fear departed and we felt peace. And He took care of the rest.
We will be in Moscow from 3/24 till 3/29 at least. If you're there during that time and just need some good 'ol RR friends/Americans to talk to, let me know. Feel free to email me if you're up for it and it works out. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you every day.

I have no words- just many many prayers....
ReplyDeleteTears and prayers.
ReplyDeletePraying Praying Praying!!!!
ReplyDeletePrayers and positive thoughts for all of you.
ReplyDeletePraying, praying praying.I can't imagine your grief or dismay, but I am praying. I was thinking last night how many folks would think all this work and "expense" is for "naught". But I do not believe it is so. Our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. The expense isn't a blink. And even if it was, this boy is sooo worthy of it! So worthy! I was reminded how the Lord sacrificed to redeem us. Praying for the desired outcome, for God's glory and for your peace and comfort and many, many other myriad of things!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog & other families from RR also. These orphans weigh heavy on my heart & I pray for them everyday. I was heartbroken when I heard the news, I cried for him & your family. The picture that I've seen of you holding him is so sweet & full of love. He truly belongs with you. So sorry that your family has to go through this. May God bless you & be with you during this time.

I am and will continue to pray for everyone involved in this case.
I know you will fight for him and that he will be able to come home with his Mommy and Daddy.
Just DO NOT give up on hope or your fight!

ReplyDeleteWhen we adopted our Russian-born son a couple of years ago we had to go through several court hearings. I honestly don't remember much of the last as I sat there and prayed through the whole thing. I prayed while others spoke in Russian. I prayed for God's will to be carried out and I asked him to not let them break my heart beyond repair.
ReplyDeleteMy son brightens my every day just because he is here for me to love on. I will keep you and Kirill in my prayers. God's heart is to place orphans in families, and there is no better family for him than the loving one that is waiting on him.
